India, April 4 -- The annual fest Rhapsody at Delhi University's Maitreyi College turned into an emotional and unforgettable evening on Thursday as singer Monali Thakur took the stage. More than just a concert, the performance felt warm and personal, with the singer effortlessly blending soulful melodies with energetic tracks.
The 40-year-old opened the set with soothing renditions of Sawaar Loon and Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, instantly setting a mellow mood. Soon, flashlights lit up across the crowd as students sang along word for word. The evening carried an intimate feel throughout.
At one point, a student walked up to present Monali with a sketch of her. Touched by the gesture, she smiled and said, "Thank you so much, you talented people. This looks even better than me in real life," drawing loud cheers.
The mood then shifted as she performed Khwab Dekhe, before delivering one of the most anticipated songs of the night, Haan Ke Haan, leaving crowd both emotional and thrilled. The energy only grew from there as she moved into upbeat Bollywood favourites. The atmosphere briefly turned festive when she performed Shubhaarambh, with students forming circles and dancing enthusiastically, almost like a Garba celebration.
Before singing Iktara, Monali shared a heartfelt note, saying "I see myself as hopeless romantic who never gives up," a thought that resonated strongly with the audience. The singer wrapped up the musical evening with a high-energy finale featuring Balam Pichkari.`...
