After the glamour, a carpet of trash at Oscars venue
India, March 18 -- The 98th Academy Awards on Sunday at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre was all about glamour and cinematic excellence. But once the lights dimmed on Hollywood's biggest night, the venue told a very different story.
A photo shared by critic Matt Neglia on X has gone viral, with over 7 million views within hours. It shows the theatre littered with discarded packaging, painting a striking contrast between the pristine pre-show build-up and the post-event mess. This sparked a flurry of criticism on social media. "Rich people leaving their dirt for poor people, as always," wrote one user, as another commented, "Classic example of money can't buy class."
One user made a pun on the Best Picture winning film, One Battle After Another: "It's One Bottle After Another." Another took a dig at celebrities who advocate for environmental preservation: "Where's all that 'protect the planet' energy now?"
However, others felt the criticism may have been overblown. One user wrote, "This isn't where the celebrities and stars sit correct? This is the family, general audiences, general academy member seating area?"
There was no official clarification till the time of going to press. htc...
