A spy story unfolds at Delhi book launch
India, May 26 -- On Saturday evening at Kota House, Delhi, the launch of The Chabimaster by Harinder Singh Sikka brought together senior defence officials, legal dignitaries and film personalities, reflecting the growing appeal of espionage stories rooted in real-life experiences.
The book was launched by Chief of India's Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, alongside Justice Manmohan, former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev, film producer Boney Kapoor and spiritual mentor Jai Madaan.
Best known for his novel Calling Sehmat, later adapted into the film Raazi (2018), Sikka continues his exploration of high-stakes espionage with his new release. Inspired by the life of a RAW operative, Sikka said, "The story is about a very ordinary man. The Chabimaster is someone who teaches you how to unlock your mind." Calling himself an "accidental writer," he added that he took nearly four years to write this novel: "I don't know how to write, but I pour my heart out."...
