India, Aug. 16 -- For actor Tara Sutaria, Navroz this year comes with a first. As the Parsi community marks the New Year with food, family and age-old traditions, the actor is playing host this year. "This year is extra special because it's the first Navroz being celebrated in my own home, where I'm hosting everyone. I've been doing a lot of prep with my house help and, of course, my mum," says Tara, who admits she has thrown herself into everything from the decor to the menu. For Tara, the occasion is also a chance to celebrate a culture she feels people know relatively little about. "The Parsi community is small but wonderful, so talking about it excites me. There's a lot of sweetness to the culture, and most people connect with our love for food." That love will certainly be reflected on her table. "This time, I'm making Persian-inspired dishes such as saffron rice with zereshk berries and lamb shanks, along with all kinds of Parsi food," she says. But beyond the feast, Navroz is about coming home to family. "My twin sister Pia and I often travel to different parts of the world, so Navroz is a time when the family comes together," Tara says. Having moved out of her parents' home makes this celebration particularly meaningful: "The perfect celebration would just be eating, drinking and having a good time together."...
