'rani mukerji's Black left an impression'
India, March 21 -- South Korean singer-actor Yeonwoo is stepping into full blown romance for the first time with Love Phobia, a series that blends technology with matters of the heart. The former member of girl group, Momoland says the project stood out for its contemporary premise and emotional depth.
Yeonwoo plays a developer behind an AI dating app, It's You, designed for lovelorn city slickers to find their perfect partner. "What first caught my attention was the subject of AI. It is becoming more familiar to many people, yet still feels somewhat unfamiliar. Within that striking premise, I was drawn to the layered story: my character's dark past, her journey toward love, and the friendship that needs to be worked through. I felt a distinct kind of appeal in all of that," she tells us.
Beyond the storyline, Yeonwoo reflects on how her own definition of success has evolved over the years: "In the past, I was very tied to the idea of 'success' - I had a strong sense that I needed to achieve something and prove it. But now, I've come to think that being able to feel satisfied with yourself and love who you are might be the greater kind of success. I'm finding that the process of recognising and accepting yourself is what truly matters."
Off screen, she is drawn to simple, grounded relationships. She explains, "I value a relationship where both people feel at ease with each other. I tend to like that kind of atmosphere in romance dramas, too. A connection that's realistic and naturally blossoms feels more genuinely exciting to me."
A fan of Indian cinema, she also expresses interest in collaborating in Bollywood, having been deeply moved by National Award-winning film, Black (2005), which starred Rani Mukerji. " I watched it when I was young. I think Indian films offer a lot of visual joy through their vibrant music and performances, but Black left a deep impression on me as a film that delivers a different kind of profound emotion. If the opportunity arises, I'd love to take on a project that holds a wide range of feelings and stories," she signs off....
