India, Aug. 1 -- Filmmaker Venky Atluri has praised actor Raveena Tandon's work ethic, revealing how she worked a 14-hour shift for their upcoming film Vishwanath & Sons due to weather conditions. Atluri, known for directing Lucky Baskhar (2024) told The Hollywood Reporter India in a new interview, "I worked with Raveena Tandon, and it was the last day of shoot; we were shooting in Ooty. The temperatures were around 6deg to 7degC. Maybe it is not cold for Hyderabadis, but for someone from Mumbai or Chennai, it's cold. There were only two options: either shoot for 14 hours straight, or shoot a portion of it and do the patch somewhere else." The filmmaker added that while actor Suriya was willing to do the hours, Tandon's manager was not convinced. "Her manager was like no, she'd be angry. I think Raveena overheard us, and I was like, can we do it, and we did. She shot from 10.30 in the morning to 12.30 at night," he recalled. Atluri shared the incident when he was asked to weigh in on the fixed working hours in debate, prompted by actor Deepika Padukone's exit from Spirit and Kalki 2898 AD sequel last year. Without naming Padukone or addressing the controversy directly, Atluri said that shoots for Telugu films routinely run 11 to 12 hours, and that actors from Tamil, Malayalam or Hindi cinema should be willing to accept those conditions. "When a person from any industry, let it be Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, when you're coming and acting in a Telugu film, you have to understand the work culture and maybe respect the culture... If I want to work on a Bollywood film, I'd work according to their working conditions. I'll not just jump saying I work from 8am, so everyone else should do it," he said. htc...
