'Audiences now are much more critical'
India, Oct. 2 -- As filmmaker Rohit Shetty recently announced the release date of Golmaal 5, actor Sharman Joshi, who is a part of the original cast, reflects on evolving audience sensibilities and shares his excitement about working with co-star Kunal Kemmu again for Golmaal's fifth instalment.
"I appreciate that audiences now are much more critical. From the production value and direction to the story, which is the backbone of everything, they are demanding more; it is wonderful and exciting," says the 47-year-old actor, adding that it is then that the actors are pushed to do better. "Only then will we be able to pull up our socks and give more than what they are expecting," he explains.
The actor also shares that all the recent projects coming his way have stood out for their stories. "I was amazed that every script that came to me of late was so special in terms of its story. That was not happening earlier. Whichever offer is coming to me, it is just so difficult to say no to," he shares.
In Golmaal 5, Sharman reunites with Kunal Kemmu 19 years after Dhol (2007). Talking about his equation with Kemmu, Sharman says, "Kunal has always been a fabulous actor. During Dhol, we were all too young, but now with his talent he has turned out to be as a writer as well."
Though the actor remained tight-lipped about his role in Golmaal 5, he could not hide his excitement about the film. "You can expect the world, and I am sure you won't be disappointed," he says....
