Mohali, Sept. 24 -- A 46-year-old man died after a car allegedly hit his motorcycle from the back on the flyover near Sethi Dhaba on the Chandigarh-Ambala highway on Monday night, causing him to crash into the railing and fall onto the road below, police said. The deceased was identified as Gurdeep Singh of Lalru. He was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh, where doctors declared him dead. According to the FIR, Singh was riding ahead of his cousin Prince Singh when a white car, allegedly travelling at high speed, hit him, throwing him off the elevated stretch onto the road below. His motorcycle, however, remained on the flyover. The FIR mentions a vehicle bearing registration number PB70F 1353. A case has been registered at Zirakpur police station under Sections 281 (rash driving), 324(4) (mischief) and 106 (culpable homicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
