Yograj seeks anticipatory bail
India, May 18 -- Former cricketer and now actor Yograj Singh, 68, has sought anticipatory bail following an FIR filed against him Chandigarh on May 14. The complaint was made by a local advocate over alleged anti-women dialogue by his character in the web series Lukkhe.
The complainant alleged that the remarks were offensive to working women, perpetuated misogyny and hurt public sentiments.
Through his counsel, Yograj has reportedly argued that the clip in question is from a web series where he played a character, and was bound by an agreement.
The court has issued notices to the state, seeking responses by May 20.
After the FIR was filed on Friday, we reached out to Yograj's youngest son Victor Singh, who seemed shocked at the news. He told us, "No, I think we'll refrain from (making a comment) fully. I think there's nothing to say. We get stuck in contracts as well. I will have to contact my legal team before talking. So sorry, no comment right now."...
