Shimla, July 25 -- A woman was killed and seven family members were injured on Friday when a landslide struck them in Jogindernagar in Mandi district, police said. The deceased, identified as Rameshwari Sharma, wife of Gopal Krishan, was a resident of Sultanpur in Kullu district. The incident occurred in the Gumma area of the Jogindernagar subdivision. The injured were rushed to Jogindernagar hospital for treatment. According to preliminary reports, eight family members were on their way to visit the Maa Simsa Temple in the Ladbharol area of Mandi district. Around 10am, the occupants of the vehicles stepped out near a natural water source to get a drink. At that moment, large boulders and debris fell from the mountain above. Locals initiated relief and rescue operations and alerted the administration.
