Warm days ahead as western disturbance weakens
Chandigarh, May 14 -- After a brief thunderstorm on Wednesday evening, the maximum temperature in the city is set to rise in the coming days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said.
The wind speed went up to 80 km per hour. The western disturbance affecting the city is expected to weaken from Thursday onwards, the IMD stated.
With an anticyclonic movement forming over the region, warm and sunny summers are likely to be back after this. The maximum temperature rose from 34.6deg Celsius on Tuesday to 38.6degC on Wednesday, 1degC above normal.
The minimum temperature rose from 22.8degC on Tuesday to 23degC on Wednesday. In the next three days, the maximum temperature will remain between 37degC and 38degC while the minimum temperature will remain between 22degC and 23degC, the IMD added....
