Visa consultancy firm's licence suspended
Mohali, July 12 -- The Mohali administration has suspended the licence of a visa consultancy firm in Phase 11 for three months after it allegedly published recruitment advertisements on social media and other digital platforms in violation of the Immigration Act, 1983.
The action was taken by additional district magistrate (ADC) Geetika Singh against Gateway to Beyond Visa Consultancy under the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act, 2012.
The licence, issued on April 16, 2026, was valid until April 15, 2031.
The three-month licence suspension began from July 6.
According to the order, the office of the Protector of Emigrants, Chandigarh, under the ministry of external affairs, informed the district administration that the firm had allegedly published recruitment-related advertisements on social media and other digital platforms.
The administration issued a notice to the firm on June 8, seeking an explanation and supporting documents.
However, the firm did not submit any reply orclarification within thestipulated time.
Before taking action, the administration had also issued a show-cause notice directing the company to give explaination within 15 days....
