Chandigarh, Sept. 4 -- The reservation status of all 35 wards of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation is set to be finalised through a draw of lots at the UT State Guest House in Sector 6 on September 11. The exercise will identify 12 wards for women, including three reserved for Scheduled Caste women and nine for women from the general category. Seven other wards will be reserved for the Scheduled Caste category. The process will take into account the 2011 Census population and the rotation system. Political parties, including the BJP, Congress, AAP, BSP, CPM and National People's Party, have been invited to send representatives. The reservation pattern is expected to impact sitting councillors and ticket aspirants, particularly those from wards that may be reserved.
