Chandigarh, Sept. 25 -- In wake of the three-day nationwide strike of bankers from September 28 to 30, the UT administration has decided to disburse the September salaries, wages and pensions of its employees, contractual staff and pensioners five days ahead of schedule - on September 25. The salaries were otherwise due on September 30. The advance payment is being made in view of the likelihood of disruption to banking transactions during the strike, the finance department said in its order issued on Thursday. The order clarified that the salary, wages and pension released on September 25 would be treated as advance payments.
