Chandigarh, May 9 -- Alleging that the Assam Tenancy Act, which has been extended to Chandigarh, would undermine the judicial process in rent-related disputes, lawyers of the Chandigarh district courts announced a complete strike and abstention from work till May 13. The decision was taken unanimously during an urgent meeting of the district bar association (DBA), Chandigarh, held at the Gents Bar Room in the district courts complex on Thursday morning.
