UT improves school edu score by 37 pts
Chandigarh, May 28 -- UT has improved its score by 37 points on the Centre's Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0, for school education, moving from 702.9 in 2023-24 to 739.1 in 2024-25, according to data released by the Ministry of Education.
The UT remains in the Prachesta-1 category-a grade that corresponds to 51-60% performance, which it shares with Punjab, the top ranked state nationally.
Among the six domains assessed, Chandigarh scored highest in equity at 239.8 out of 260, and for teacher education and training at 85.5 out of 100.
Its weakest performance was in learning outcomes and quality, where it scored 110.6 out of 240, though this too improved by 7 points over the previous year.
Punjab and Chandigarh are the only two in the Prachesta-1 band, having surpassed Kerala, Delhi, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh, all of which were placed in the Prachesta-2 category....
