Panchkula, May 15 -- With the Prime Minister and the Haryana chief minister calling for fuel conservation and environmental protection, the Panchkula police administration on Thursday said that it has launched a special initiative, asking police personnel to adopt alternative and shared modes of transport. Cops have been advised to use bicycles as much as possible. They have also been encouraged to adopt carpooling during duty and official assignments. To facilitate employees, the department has also started a special bus service from the police lines to various police offices, stations and posts.
