Unknown man booked for barging into PGs, harassing two women
Chandigarh, May 16 -- An unidentified man has been booked after two women, staying in paying guest (PG) accommodations in Chandigarh alleged that someone barged into their room and tried to sexually assault them at knifepoint before fleeing on the intervening nightbetween Wednesday and Thursday.
Though both women live miles apart - one in Sector 16 and the other in 37, their description of the man matched.
Both stated in their police statements that the man was seen fleeing on a cycle.
The Sector 37 resident, aged 23, said the accused had barged into her PG around 4 am and tried to sexually harass her while threatening her with a knife.
She suffered a cut on her face in the attack.
The other woman, aged 22, alleged the accused entered her PG around 3am and tried to sexually harass her.
When she raised the alarm, the accused threatened her with a knife and fled from the spot.
Police have confirmed that cases will be registered for the two incidents in the Sector 39 and 17 police stations....
