Two workers sustain burn injuries after fire at Bahadurgarh units
Rohtak, June 1 -- Two migrant workers sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out across two factories in the HSIIDC Sector-17 industrial area of Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, police said on Sunday.
According to the police, the injured workers were identified as Monu, 30, of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and Deepak, 25, of Kanpur. Both sustained burns and were taken to the Bahadurgarh civil hospital before being referred to PGIMS Rohtak for further treatment. Officials said the fire initially broke out around 7 am at a shoe manufacturing factory located at Plot No. 261 in Sector-17. The blaze started in the raw materials and packing material stored inside the unit, further spreading rapidly due to highly flammable material and strong winds.
The fire later spread to the adjoining mattress manufacturing unit, located at Plot No. 262. Officials said the chemicals used in mattress production caught fire, intensifying the blaze further and making firefighting operations difficult.
Initially, fire brigade teams from Bahadurgarh reached the spot, and additional fire tenders were later called in from Jhajjar, Rohtak, and Delhi. Investigation officer Satbir Singh said that the situation is under control....
