Tiger captured after 3 deaths in Almora
Rudrapur, Sept. 5 -- Villagers in Tadam, Dabhra-Saural and Borda in Almora's Salt block heaved a sigh of relief after theforest department tranquilised a tiger in the Bhaunkhal area on Wednesday night.
However, the threat from leopards persists, while the department's permission to capture or tranquilise the big cats expired on Thursday.
Forest officials will now have to seek fresh approval from higher authorities iffurther rescue operations involving the leopards are required.
"The permission to capture or tranquilise both the tiger and leopards was granted together for a month by the Chief Wildlife Warden (CWW) of the state.
