India, July 7 -- I t was a close call for actor-YouTuber Kshitij Dholakia, who recently escaped unharmed after a tree crashed onto his car during a storm in Mumbai. He says, "It was a narrow escape. I was lucky that I wasn't in the car and was just about to sit inside when I saw Nature's fury unfold in front of my eyes. There was a huge thud and my car was all gone." The incident took place around 11pm on Friday, after which emergency services responded swiftly. "I called the cops, who arrived in no time, followed by the fire brigade. It was a really big tree that blocked the entire road. It had also pulled down two-three active electric wires, which were even more dangerous. It was a big save for us," he shares, adding, "I have no complaints because this was a natural incident. But my car was also caught in waterlogging." Despite the extensive damage, Dholakia says the vehicle holds sentimental value as it was bought with his own earnings: "It wasn't my favourite car, but I had sentiments attached to it because I bought it with my own money. Though it was second-hand, it stood the test of time and was a very sturdy machine. That's why I'm spending over Rs.2.5 lakh to get it back in shape. Abhi main ek brand new gaadi mein invest nahi karna chahta. I would rather save my money and invest in something better."...
