Patna, Sept. 13 -- Tension prevailed in Bihar's Sitamarhi on Saturday after Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) district vice-president Vaidyanath Mahato was shot dead by four bike-borne unidentified men when he was out for a walk, officials said. The incident, which took place in Ketharia-Rampatti , triggered protests. A senior officer said, "The crowd pelted stones at officers, injuring at least one inspector. Several police vehicles were vandalised, with their windows smashed and one vehicle overturned.
