TARN TARAN, Aug. 5 -- At least four people were injured in a firing incident during a religious event on the premises of a gurdwara in Uboke village, near Patti town, officials said on Tuesday. The injured were identified as Harjinder Singh, Narpinder Singh, Gursaab Singh and Gurpreet Singh, all supporters of Akali Dal (Waris Punjab de) leader from Patti constituency, Harpreet Singh Khalsa. According to reports, several members of the congregation also sustained pellet injuries. The injured are undergoing treatment at a nearby government hospital. Khalsa alleged that they were leaving the sanctum sanctorum of gurdwara after addressing the gathering when some armed men, who were waiting outside, opened fire on them. The firing triggered panic in the area. Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Ravisher Singh said the police were investigating the incident. "Strict legal action will be taken against the perpetrators based on the facts and evidence. The police are in the process of registering a case," he said....
