Mohali, Aug. 15 -- Confronted for dangerous driving, an SUV driver allegedly assaulted a chemist, his wife and an employee near Bhuru Chowk in Kharar on Tuesday. It all started around noon when Ankush, 39, who runs a medical store in the area, was standing outside the shop. A Renault Duster, bearing registration numberHR-26-DV-4571, coming from the Landran side, hit his right leg. When Ankush stopped the vehicle and questioned its occupants, the accused, identified as brothers Jasdeep Singh and Khushdeep Singh, residents of Rajdhani Enclave in Desumajra Colony, allegedly followed him into the medical store and attacked him, his wife and an employee. They also allegedly abused the victims, damaged items kept inside the shop and threatened them before leaving the spot. Ankush told police that the two appeared to be under the influence of liquor during the altercation. A case under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 125 (rash or negligent act that endangers human life), 281 (rash or negligent driving on a public way) and 332 (trespass) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered against the duo.
