New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- Several states on Friday reported more people missing in flood-hit Nepal, with many able to get information about the safety of those stranded. A Maharashtra government official said 404 people from the state are stranded but confirmed safe in various parts of Nepal. Besides, 105 people have returned to India. West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari said two of the 39 reported missing have been found to be safe, and efforts were underway to trace the rest. Keralam chief minister VD Satheesan said that eight people, including four based in Australia, were stranded in Nepal and are yet to be contacted. He added that helpline calls regarding 82 people were received, and 60 have been deemed to be safe. In Odisha, three more people from the state were reported missing in Nepal, besides a Melbourne-based couple. Andhra Pradesh authorities revised the total number of missing people to 10, with one presumed missing being traced. Chhattisgarh reported two NRIs missing and two, who were earlier presumed missing, establishing contact with their families in the state on Friday.
