Mohali, May 20 -- A 35-year-old man was killed after a speeding car allegedly hit him on the Zirakpur flyover near K Area traffic lights on Sunday morning. The victim, identified as Ankit, suffered severe head injuries and was taken to civil hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula, where he died during treatment. According to the complaint filed by his uncle, Drik Pal, an auto-rickshaw driver, the accident occurred around 11 am while he was going towards Zirakpur from Panchkula. As Pal crossed the K Area lights and approached the flyover, he saw Ankit standing on the bridge. Moments later, a white Maruti Suzuki car, bearing registration number HR-70-3261 and allegedly at high speed, struck the victim from the back. The impact threw Ankit onto the road, leaving him critically injured. Zirakpur police registered a case of rash driving and death by negligence....
