special Woman gets Aadhaar at doorstep
Chandigarh, June 12 -- A 42-year-old specially-abled woman in Chandigarh has finally her Aadhaar card after decades of being without a formal identity after coordinated efforts by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and the UT administration, officials said on Thursday.
The woman, who has been suffering from severe developmental disabilities since childhood, was unable to visit Aadhaar enrolment centres or government offices on her own, leaving her without any identity document for years.
UIDAI's Chandigarh office said a voter card was facilitated for her before issuing Aadhaar at her doorstep....
