Amritsar, June 12 -- A delegation of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), led by its president Harjinder Singh Dhami, is visiting the United States to inspect the land earmarked in Yuba City, California, for setting up a religious preaching centre, printing press, Sikh Mission and Gurmat school. The nearly 14-acre land has been donated to SGPC by late Didar Singh Bains and his family. In a press note, Dhami said a large number of requests for Guru Granth Sahib saroops were regularly received from Sikhs in the US and Canada. The establishment of a printing press at the site will enable the SGPC to meet this demand more effectively. He said the proposed centre, aimed at promoting Sikh teachings, would not only strengthen cooperation between the Sikh diaspora and Sikh institutions but would also help connect Sikh children living abroad with Gurmat principles and Sikh traditions....
