Amritsar, June 26 -- During its general house meeting scheduled on Saturday, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) is likely to formalise objections raised regarding the recently enacted Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026, besides discussing the Akal Takht's decree against chief minister Bhagwant Mann over an objectionable video. The meeting will be held at the Teja Singh Samundri Hall at the headquarters of the gurdwara body in Amritsar. The decision to call the session was taken in the SGPC executive committee meeting held on June 20. Speaking to the media after the meeting, president Harjinder Singh Dhami had said the actions shown in the objectionable video had deeply hurt religious sentiments of the Sikh community worldwide.
