Chandigarh, Sept. 22 -- Additional Solicitor General (ASG) for the Punjab and Haryana high court (HC), Satya Pal Jain, has beenreappointed to the post till December 31. An ASG is the top law officer of the central government at the HC. The post was created inDecember 2014, and Jain was appointed in April 2015. A former Bharatiya Janata Party MP, Jain is the firstperson to hold the post in Chandigarh. With the latest notification issued by the President of India, this will be his sixth term. The Centre has a panel of about 200 lawyers at the HC, and Jain is also the overall incharge of litigation of the Government of India in thedistrict and subordinate courts in two states and Chandigarh....
