Rupnagar farmer's daughter tops Air Force Academy merit list
Chandigarh, June 3 -- Two cadets of Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) for Girls, Mohali, have brought laurels to the state by excelling in the country's defence services selection process.
Mehakpreet Kaur has topped the nation by securing All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the Air Force Academy merit list, while Komalpreet Kaur bagged AIR 18 for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, Maharashtra. According to a release by the institute, Mehakpreet hails from Paprali village in Ropar, and is the daughter of Amarjit Singh, a farmer, and Rupinder Kaur. Komalpreet Kaur is a resident of Shahura village in Amritsar, and the daughter of Gurmeet Singh, a havildar in the army, and Baljit Kaur. Congratulating the duo, Punjab employment generation, skill development and training minister Aman Arora said their success reflected the vision of an aspirational Punjab.
