Registry clerk in Raipur Rani caught taking Rs.70k bribe
Panchkula, Oct. 10 -- A registry clerk in Raipur Rani has been arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.70,000 from a property dealer.
The accused has been identified as Amit, a resident of Sonepat, who has been the registry clerk for the area for the last three months.
The property dealer, in his complaint, had alleged that the accused initially demanded Rs.1.5 lakh to facilitate the registration of two kanals of land and a showroom. The amount was later negotiated to Rs.1.2 lakh. The property dealer alleged that the clerk had asked him to keep the money in his car. Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths reached the spot and recovered Rs.70,000 from the vehicle before arresting the accused....
