Radical outfits mark 40th anniv of Khalistan Declaration
Amritsar, April 30 -- Five radical outfits, including Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), on Wednesday commemorated the 40th anniversary of the "Khalistan Declaration Day" by taking out a procession and holding prayers at Akal Takht.
Other groups involved in this secessionist activity comprised Dal Khalsa, Panch Pardhani Jatha, Akal Federation and Jathedar Hawara Committee.
The procession, marking 40 years of the "Khalistan Declaration" by a five-member Panthic committee on April 29, 1986 , started at Burj Akali Phoola Singh and culminated at Golden Temple.
The hardliners carried pro-Khalistan flags while marching toward the holiest Sikh shrine. The march was led by former MP Simranjit Singh Mann, former militant leader Daljit Singh Bittu, former militant Narain Singh Chaura and Kanwar Pal Singh.
