Chandigarh, June 6 -- Punjab Police on Friday conducted 548 raids across the state as part of the ongoing anti-gangster campaign aimed at eliminating organised crime networks in Punjab. The special operation, launched by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, entered its 136th day on Friday. Police teams, in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), carried out raids at identified locations linked to gangster associates. During the operation, police arrested 295 individuals and recovered one weapon. With this, the total number of arrests under the campaign has reached 34,212. Preventive action was also taken against 78 persons, while nine individuals were released after verification and questioning. Police teams additionally arrested seven proclaimed offenders. Punjab Police urged citizens to anonymously share information related to gangsters and criminal activities through the Anti-Gangster Helpline number 93946-93946.
