Jaipur, May 7 -- The Rajasthan Police's anti-gangster task force (AGTF) has arrested Chandra Prakash Sharma, alias Chandu, an associate of Punjab-based gangster Zeeshan Akhtar, from Bandikui in Dausa district, officials said.
Additional director general (ADG), AGTF, Dinesh MN said Akhtar is a key accused in the 2024 murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui and had fled abroad after the incident. He was earlier a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, but the two parted ways following Siddiqui's murder.

After fleeing Punjab, the accused hid at multiple locations in Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Parasar Dham in Dausa, Lalsot, and nearby areas. The AGTF had been tracking his movements for over a month through continuous intelligence inputs and technical surveillance.
Based on specific information, the AGTF laid a trap and arrested Chandu in Bandikui on Tuesday night. Following legal formalities, he was handed over to Punjab Police.
