Chandigarh, Sept. 3 -- Rail passengers travelling to and from Chandigarh will face major disruptions from September 10 to October 15, with the Northern Railways cancelling 12 train services,short-terminating or short-originating six others at Ambalaand diverting two trains (see box). The changes are being made to facilitate the ongoing renovation works at the Chandigarh railway station. The Rs.462 crore redevelopment plan, being undertaken by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), has already missed five deadlines, the latest one being July 31.
