Panchkula, June 27 -- After a video of a special police officer (SPO) purportedly beating up a youngster in Ramgarh village went viral on social media, Panchkula deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Srishti Gupta issued orders to dismiss him. The cop has been identified as Jaiveer Singh, an SPO posted with the emergency response vehicle (ERV). SPOs are temporary police personnel recruited by the state police departments to assist the regular police officers. Police officials confirmed the video was that of a recent incident. They had been informed by locals that a suspicious man was roaming in the area. On receiving the information, a police team reached the spot, where the person was found intoxicated following which he was allegedly thrashed by Singh. As soon as the matter came to the notice of Panchkula DCP, she issued orders to dismiss SPO Jaiveer Singh from service with immediate effect....
