Panchkula, Aug. 25 -- Deputy commissioner (DC) Satpal Sharma has ordered the suspension of Khedawali sarpanch Labh Singh after an on-site inspection found alleged large-scale illegal mining and excessive excavation in the village. Residents of the village, which falls in Pinjore block, had complained to the DC about illegal mining activities in the area. Acting on the complaint, Sharma inspected the village on Monday and found large-scale illegal mining taking place, according to the district administration. The DC said clear instructions had been issued to all sarpanches in the district to immediately report any instances of illegal mining in their respective areas to the administration.
