chandigarh, Sept. 28 -- Mayor Saurabh Joshi, along with Olympic medallist and badminton icon Saina Nehwal, flagged off the SK Tricity Marathon on Sunday. More than 8,000 runners registered for the event, which carried a strong message against drug abuse and cybercrime, while promoting fitness and healthy living, the organisers said. The event was organised by Yuva Sanskriti Sabha and Rashtriya Brahman Sabha in association with SK Finance, bringing together residents for a social cause. Nehwal lauded the city's fitness-conscious culture and green lifestyle, where people regularly walk, run and exercise in neighbourhood parks and open-air gyms maintained across the city by the MC. Joshi thanked Nehwal for inspiring Chandigarh's youth. He hailed the residents for their participation. "Fitness is part of Chandigarh's lifestyle. Our green spaces and open-air gyms encourage citizens to stay active," the mayor added....
