India, Sept. 9 -- Actor Chandan Anand, known for his roles in Fighter (2024) and Homebound (2025), is soaking in the unexpected success of Hanuman Ansh. In the film, he plays Ram Nandan Bhosle, an HSRA revolutionary whose encounter with spiritual leader Neem Karoli Baba becomes a turning point in his life. Helmed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film, released last month, has collected Rs.132 crore at the box office till now. Its massive turnaround surprised even the makers. "We were convinced that it would be liked, but we were unaware that it would become so big; nobody in the team, including the makers, was expecting this turnaround," says Anand, adding, "It's no secret; we all know small films get fewer shows and screens. It's difficult to find a place, but this film found its way and proved that conviction in your story and characters can do wonders," he adds. Anand's casting in the film itself was unexpected. "I was initially offered a small role. I arrived from Mumbai, but within a day of joining, it turned out that I got to be a full-fledged character of Ram Nandan Bhosle," he recalls. "It's one of those roles that stays throughout the film and sets the narrative, and I am happy my work is reaching that far," adds the actor. The film's spiritual setting also shaped the atmosphere on set. Anand shares, "It was a completely sathvik atmosphere, prohibiting abusive language, arguments, and fights, as well as keeping non-vegetarian food and any type of alcohol completely off the sets, which was strictly enforced by the team for everyone." For Anand, landing the role now feels more like destiny. "That was my karma; Baba wanted this from me after years of hard work in acting," he concludes....
