New Zealand PM, jathedar Giani Gargaj discuss Sikh community's contributions
Amritsar, April 20 -- New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on Sunday visited Guru Nanak Sikh Sangat Gurdwara in Otahuhu, Auckland, where he held a special meeting with Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, acting jathedar of Akal Takht.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed promoting mutual harmony and understanding among the Sikh community and other communities residing in New Zealand.
They also deliberated on the significant contributions made by Sikhs towards the country's development and strengthening the community here.
Jathedar Giani Gargaj thanked the Prime Minister Christopher for recognising and honouring the services rendered by the Sikh community in New Zealand.
He also extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Golden Temple, which he gladly accepted.
On the occasion, Takanini MP Rima Nakhle, Central Sikh Association president and Supreme Sikh Society of New Zealand spokesperson Daljit Singh, Youth Akali Dal president Sarabjit Singh Jhinjer and Akal Takht media adviser Jaskaran Singh, among others, were also present....
