MP Tewari dedicates devp projects
Chandigarh, July 20 -- Lok Sabha MP Manish Tewari on Sunday dedicated six newly constructed lanes in Deep Complex, Hallomajra. The work was accomplished through the MPLAD funds, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Tewari stressed that these developmental works should be undertaken by the municipal corporation. "MPLADS funds are meant to provide interventions in the field of education and public health. Since the MC falls short in providing basic infrastructure to the people of the city, we are compelled to use our MPLADS funds in order to fulfil these basic infrastructure needs of the people," he said.
At National Student's Union of India's student interaction programme at the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee office, Tewari recalled his national presidency of the NSUI from 1988 to 1993. He said students should be diligent with their studies but they should simultaneously fight to create a better and more equitable society.
Students shared concerns regarding examination irregularities, unemployment, delays in recruitment processes, and issues affecting the education system.
Senior Congress leader Kumari Selja said that today India's youth feel more insecure about their future than ever before. The event was part of the All India Congress Committee's nationwide campaign "Chattron ki Goonj"
