Mohali, Sept. 26 -- A man was allegedly shot, leaving him critically injured, after he objected to two men harassing his female cousin in Mullanpur's Padaul village on Thursday evening. The victim, a former local-level wrestler, remains under treatment at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, where doctors said he took two bullets to his thigh and two to his abdomen. The accused have been identified as Jassa and Davinder. According to the police, the victim and the two accused had been at odds for sometime. The victim had reportedly objected to the duo harassing his cousin, leading to arguments between the two sides on earlier occasions. On Thursday, the dispute escalated into an altercation, during which Jassa allegedly fired five to seven rounds at the victim, four of which struck him. After the shooting, the accused allegedly fled the spot. Superintendent of police Jaspinder Singh said, "A case has been registered and raids are on to trace the accused."...
