Mohali, Aug. 14 -- Following the completion of house-to-house enumeration and digitisation of enumeration forms under the first phase of the special intensive revision (SIR)-2026, 84,795 electors remain unmapped while another 1,09,419 have been flagged for logical discrepancies. Deputy commissioner-cum-district election officer Komal Mittal said notices would be issued to the electors in whose forms discrepancies were found so that they have an opportunity to submit the required documents and present their case before the designated authorities. Mittal said the SIR exercise, along with rationalisation of polling stations, had resulted in a district-wide electoral roll comprising 7,00,719 electors. She handed over the electoral rolls to representatives of political parties on Wednesday. The electorate includes 3,62,751 male, 3,37,954 female and 14 third-gender voters. The district now has 936 polling stations. Among the three assembly constituencies, Dera Bassi has the highest number of polling stations at 329 and 2,61,082 electors. Kharar has 324 polling stations and 2,46,922 electors, while Mohali assembly constituency has 1,92,715 electors across 283 polling stations. The claims and objections period began on August 13 and will remain open until September 12. The process of issuing notices and disposing of such cases will continue from August 13 to October 8. During this period, affected electors can appear before the designated electoral registration officers (EROs) and assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs) and submit documents in support of their claims. As many as 87 electoral registration officers have been deployed across the district to deal with claims and objections. The administration has also clarified that eligible voters who could not submit their enumeration forms for any reason and whose names are missing from the draft electoral roll can apply for inclusion through Form 6. Eligible overseas Indian electors can submit Form 6A. For objections to entries in the electoral roll, Form 7 can be used, while Form 8 is available for correction of particulars, including change of address. The draft electoral rolls will be available with the sub-divisional magistrates booth level officers (BLOs). BLOs will also be present at their respective polling stations on August 16, along with the draft rolls, to respond to voters' queries and facilitate resolution of theirconcerns....
