Ferozepur, Sept. 28 -- The Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested the station house officer (SHO) of Kot Ise Khan police station in Moga district and her gunman on Saturday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000. The arrested police officials were identified as inspector Sunita Bawa, SHO of Kot Ise Khan, and home guard jawan Guravtar Singh. According to the VB, the action followed a complaint by Rajwinder Singh of Noorpur Hakima village, who alleged that the SHO had threatened to implicate him in a drug-trafficking case and demanded money from him. The complainant approached the VB's Ferozepur Range, following which the allegations were verified and a trap was laid. A case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018, has been registered at the VB police station in Ferozepur. Further investigation is in progress.HTC...
