Moga police station blast 'shows collapse of law & order' in state: Dhillon
Chandigarh, July 11 -- Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party president Kewal Singh Dhillon on Friday flayed the Aam Aadmi Party government, alleging that the recent bomb attack on the Moga police station reflected an "alarming collapse of law and order in Punjab".
In a statement, Dhillon said chief minister Bhagwant Mann, who also held the home portfolio, had completely failed to maintain law and order in the state, and should immediately resign on moral grounds.
Dhillon said the Moga attack was part of a disturbing pattern of bomb blasts, grenade attacks and gangster violence during the AAP government's tenure.
He alleged that gangsters were operating criminal syndicates from prisons while law enforcement had failed to instil any fear of the law among criminals. Instead of declining, he said, crime rate continued to escalate.
