Mercury stays below normal amid drizzle
Chandigarh, July 22 -- The city recorded 1.2 mm rain on Tuesday, keeping temperatures below normal despite a slight rise in the daytime temperature. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the possibility of heavy rain on Wednesday.
The maximum temperature increased from 29.4degC on Monday to 32.3degC on Tuesday, 1degC below normal. The minimum temperature dropped from 26.4degC to 24degC, which was 3degC below normal. Although rainfall was limited, the sky remained mostly cloudy throughout the day, contributing to the cooler-than-usual weather.
