MEA: PGIMER emerges as India's sole healthcare leadership hub
Chandigarh, May 21 -- The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is the only medical institute in India entrusted with conducting a leadership and management programme for healthcare professionals under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) framework of the Union ministry of external affairs (MEA), said the additional secretary of the MEA, Viraj Singh.
Singh said this on Wednesday after inaugurating the 33rd International Public Health Management Development Programme (IPHMDP) at PGIMER. The institute director, Vivek Lal, along with 43 clinical and public health professionals from 20 countries, was also present during the occasion.
The inauguration marked the decennial celebration of the flagship programme that has trained nearly 1,700 healthcare professionals, administrators, and public health leaders from 97 countries in 10 years, emerging as an important platform for India's public health diplomacy, South-South cooperation, and global knowledge exchange
IPHMD programme director, Sonu Goel said that the initiative has created a vibrant global network of "IPHMDP ambassadors" connected through shared learning a collective commitment towards improving health systems.htc...
