BATHINDA, May 23 -- A sessions court in Mansa on Friday rejected the bail application of Manpreet Singh Manna, one of the accused in the murder of Punjabi singer and Congress leader Shubhdeep Singh aka Sidhu Moosewala. Manna, allegedly associated with the Goldy Brar gang, is accused of supplying a white Toyota Corolla car used by the shooters in killing the singer in May 2019. Manna's counsel Raghbir Singh Benhiwal said the bail application was moved as none of the witnesses had stated before the court that the car was owned by the co-accused. However, the sessions judge rejected the bail. The court on Friday fixed the next date of hearing for July 3 to continue recording witness statements. According to the police, Manna had allegedly arranged a car for the Punjab module of shooters.
