Panchkula, Sept. 28 -- Police registered a case on Sunday against the manager of a hookah bar at North Park Soho, Nada Sahib, Sector 32, for allegedly serving hookah in violation of tobacco-control regulations and prohibitory orders. According to the complaint registered at the Chandimandir police station, police received information around 10.30pm on Saturday that illegal hookah was being served at the outlet. A team led by sub-inspector Yogdhyan Singh reached the premises and allegedly found manager Abhishek, a resident of district Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, serving hookah to customers. Police seized three hookahs, including two Bang Gang hookahs and one Nil hookah, along with three packets labelled "extreme brain freezer". Samples of the material from each hookah were collected, sealed and sent to the forensic laboratory, Madhuban, for examination. The FIR stated that serving hookah allegedly violated a Haryana government notification issued by the home department in October 2023 and a prohibitory order issued by the Panchkula police.
